Exporting a presentation to PowerPoint (.pptx)

Salesframe is designed so you can present and share content directly as links, with full tracking and an easy viewing experience for customers. Sometimes, though, you might need a regular PowerPoint file.

For those situations, you can export your presentation from Salesframe as a new .pptx file.

1 - What PPTX export actually does

PPTX export lets you:

  • pick and mix slides from the Salesframe Library

  • arrange them in the presentation deck

  • generate a new PowerPoint file based on those slides

Important limitation:

  • Only slides that were originally PowerPoint files (.pptx) can be exported as editable PowerPoint slides.

  • Slides that come from PDFs, images, or other file types cannot magically become PowerPoints in the export.

Think of PPTX export as: “use Salesframe as a slide picker and builder, then download a PowerPoint copy of that selection if you really need one.”

2 - How to export a presentation as PPTX

  • Build your deck in Salesframe

    • Open Library and select the slides you want.

    • Add them to the presentation deck at the bottom by clicking or dragging.

    • Make sure the slides you want exported were originally PPTX files.

  • Open the presentation deck

    • Click the deck at the bottom to expand it if it isn’t already open.

    • Check that the slide order is how you want it in the final PowerPoint.

  • Export as PowerPoint

    • In the presentation deck toolbar, click Export.

    • Choose Export as PPTX.

    • Salesframe generates a new PowerPoint file from the slides in your deck.

  • Download the file

    • When the file is ready, download it to your computer.

    • You can now open and edit it in PowerPoint like any other .pptx file.

3 - What is and isn’t included in the export

Included in the PPTX export:

  • Slides that were originally PowerPoint files (.pptx) in the Library

  • Those slides in the order they appear in your presentation deck

Not converted to editable PowerPoint slides:

  • Slides that come from PDF files

  • Slides that are images only

  • Other non PowerPoint file types in your deck

Those elements either will not appear as editable slides, or may be skipped depending on how they were created. If you need them in PowerPoint, you must rebuild or copy that content manually in PowerPoint itself.

4 - When should you use PPTX export?

In most cases, it is better to:

  • present directly from Salesframe

  • share content using Salesframe links so you keep tracking and a clean customer experience

PPTX export is useful when:

  • A customer or partner specifically requires a PowerPoint file for internal use.

  • You need to do heavy editing in PowerPoint that goes beyond quick tweaks in Salesframe.

  • You must upload a deck to an event platform, tender portal or internal system that only accepts .pptx files.

Just remember:

  • Once you send a PowerPoint file as an attachment, Salesframe cannot track what happens to that file.

  • If you want tracking and link notifications, use a Salesframe link instead, or in addition.
